List what the owner needs
Ask about photographs, contacts, messages, app records and files stored only on the device. Keep the list at category level; a technician does not need to inspect private conversations to learn that they matter. Different data types may use different backup arrangements.
Inspect status rather than assuming coverage
Google provides a way to review Android backup details and explains that restoration varies by device and software version. Have the owner check the account, backup status and covered categories. Do not promise that every app or local file is included.
Use a modest verification task
Where the owner can do so safely, verify access to a permitted backed-up item through the supported service. Record limitations without collecting account credentials. If a phone cannot start or access its account, say that backup verification was not possible; recovery cannot be guaranteed by filling out an intake form.
Photographs are covered but an app is not
A photo backup does not establish that a separate app’s local records are recoverable. List the app as an open question until the owner checks its supported backup method. Avoid describing the entire phone as fully backed up.
