Identify the exact document
Ask for the certificate’s issuing body, programme name and the conditions for receiving it. A certificate of attendance and a document tied to a practical assessment may represent different things. Do not infer recognition from a logo or the word “certified.”
Request a verification route
Ask how the issuer and document can be checked, and what evidence supports any claimed affiliation. Keep the answer in writing. This guide does not establish an academy’s accreditation or offer legal advice about qualification recognition.
Separate the document from your skill record
Keep practical assessments and honest portfolio evidence alongside any certificate. If an employer or further-training provider has requirements, confirm those directly. Before enrolling, resolve who issues the document and what was assessed rather than assuming every course completion record has the same purpose.
A brochure says certified without naming the issuer
Ask for the exact issuer and verification route. Do not fill the gap with an assumed government affiliation or employer recognition. Keep the answer unresolved until the provider supplies evidence relevant to the document being offered.
Your practice record
