Identify what occupies the space
Start with the phone’s storage summary. Distinguish downloaded media, app data, photographs and system categories. Storage capacity and working memory are different concepts; a warning about space does not automatically mean the phone needs more RAM or a motherboard repair.
Agree on a deletion plan
Google’s Pixel instructions distinguish clearing temporary cache from clearing app storage. Ask the owner which files and app records matter before making changes. For a copied file, verify that the destination opens it successfully before the owner decides whether to delete the original.
Confirm the outcome without overclaiming
Record the available storage before and after the agreed cleanup and retry the original task. If space remains unexplained, consult the device maker rather than installing an unknown cleaner. A successful cleanup establishes reclaimed capacity, not a guarantee that every performance problem has been resolved.
A copied file has not been checked
A transfer window saying complete is useful, but the owner should still verify the destination before deleting the original. If a file cannot be opened, pause the deletion plan and investigate the copy rather than declaring the backup successful.
