A Repair Internship Learning Log: Record Your Actual Role

Document observation, assisted work and assessed performance separately.

01

Label the level of participation

For each permitted activity, mark whether you observed, assisted or performed under supervision. Record the learning objective without publishing customer details. Watching a skilled technician complete an operation is valuable exposure, but it is not the same as doing it yourself.

02

Capture the reasoning

Write the complaint category, evidence reviewed and reason for the next step. Include a question you asked or feedback you received. Do not copy private job sheets or claim responsibility for a repair completed by someone else.

03

Review the log with a supervisor

Ask which entry shows progress and which skill needs another approved exercise. Keep any assessment limitation explicit. A learning log can support an honest interview conversation; it should not invent an internship, customer case or independent competence that has not been verified.

04

You assisted with only one stage

Record that stage and your supervision accurately. You can explain what you learned without claiming the whole repair as independent work. This makes the log useful for planning the next exercise and for an honest discussion of experience.
