Confirm the manual matches
Check the exact device, revision and task. iFixit explains that guides include information such as difficulty; read the complete relevant guide rather than relying on one photograph. A procedure for a similar model can conceal important differences.
Read past the opening steps
Identify required preparation, tools, parts and the supported sequence. Review reassembly and verification before beginning. List any instruction you do not understand and ask a qualified instructor to explain it; uncertainty should be resolved before an irreversible action.
Make an annotated preparation sheet
Write the procedure source, applicable model and questions, with references to the relevant steps. Do not republish a proprietary manual or remove its warnings in a shortened copy. During practice, note any mismatch between the instructions and the actual device and stop to resolve it rather than improvising.
A reassembly step requires a part you do not have
Resolve that before starting disassembly. Reading the entire procedure can reveal a dependency that an opening photograph hides. Ask the instructor or service provider about the correct preparation rather than improvising at the end of the task.
