Begin with the documented technology
eMMC and UFS are different managed storage technologies. Micron’s guidance distinguishes their interfaces and application characteristics. A device’s capacity alone does not identify which technology or exact component it uses.
Connect the label to the actual board
For a paper exercise, use authorized device documentation to identify the storage type, component identity and host relationship. Do not assume a tool that supports one device or package supports every other storage component. Physical similarity is an incomplete compatibility check.
Keep data and diagnosis separate
A storage-related startup symptom does not prove the chip has failed, and identifying a chip does not guarantee data recovery. Ask how the training course distinguishes supported reading, diagnosis and any writing operation. Customer authorization and preservation priorities must be established before actions that may change stored information.
A startup symptom is labelled a storage failure
Ask what evidence supports that label and which alternatives were examined. The storage technology’s name does not establish the fault or guarantee recoverable data. Keep identification, diagnosis and any data-changing proposal as separate decisions.

Manufacturer and technical references for the checks discussed in this guide. Follow the instructions for your exact device and equipment.
Repair procedures involve heat, electricity, fragile parts and customer data. Practise under qualified supervision and work only on devices you are authorized to service.
