Match the full device identity
Begin with the component’s complete identification and package. A family of related chips may have multiple package options. The datasheet’s pin view and orientation must match the physical part before a pin number can be related to a board location.
Read functions alongside the drawing
Texas Instruments’ datasheet guidance explains pin configuration and function sections. In a paper exercise, mark supply, reference, input and output pins according to the actual table. Note whether the drawing is a top or bottom view; an orientation error reverses an otherwise careful analysis.
Distinguish operation from stress limits
TI also distinguishes absolute maximum ratings from recommended operating conditions. A stress limit is not a suggested operating target or test voltage. Keep the relevant conditions with each specification. Ask a qualified instructor to review the interpretation before any powered measurement or component replacement is considered.
A maximum rating looks like a useful target
An absolute maximum is not a recommended operating point. Refer to the specified operating conditions and test context. A student should explain that distinction on paper before using the number to support a powered diagnostic proposal.
